Note the proximity in regard to the primate range. This explains the relation/similarities with primates to it's given degree, due to the process of Proximity Gestation.

"Hominid 'Evolution' Graph"

Gibbons, A. 2002. "In search of the first hominids"

Note that should a person view this graph from a different perspective which is from a "frontal view," and for just a moment suspend the idea of 'linear'- time development, it falls right in line with the "proximity effect" that I have described. Each difference representing subtle differences in "fringe exposure."
